Llangefni

Post Code: LL 77

Population: 4900

Property Profile: The staple housing here is the 3 bedroom terrace and semi detached. The town itself is not normally recognised as a holiday home location but the moment you are out of the town there is magnificent countryside in all directions.

Description: Llangefni is situated in about the centre of Anglesey, and was once an extremely important part of Anglesey's agricultural history, as it was the central market for livestock. Cattle, pigs, chickens, and all manner of livestock were traded here. Llangefni is still a market town, with a decent sized market each Thursday and Saturday.

The atmospheric Bull Hotel, long a market tavern and rebuilt in its present form in 1872 is a wonderful centrepiece for the town. Llangefni has the beautiful church of St Cyngar`s, and bordering the church is a path leading to a restored area known as the Dingle, and if you have never walked it, then do yourself a natural favour and do so.

Minutes from the town is the small but interesting art gallery, Oriel Mon, which houses the Tunnicliffe collection, and smaller exhibitions by local artists. It will soon house the collection of the late Sir Kyffin Williams. Apart from art, the gallery also features exhibitions of local history periodically.

The Town Clock is actually a memorial to one of Anglesey's sons lost.
